The story so far, dear blog reader: Between now and whenever yer actual Keith Telly Topping his very self finishes the job, this blogger is undertaking the (probably) once-in-a-lifetime task of reviewing every single Doctor Who story - all two hundred and seventy five (ish) of them - using just one appropriate adjective for each. Or one verb if he can't think of an adjective. Or, one noun if he can't think of a verb. Because, dear blog reader, it's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. The opening salvo taking us up to the end of series fourteen seems to have gone down pretty well (particularly with all the splendid people at the TV Writer Blog who did lurv it the mostest, baby) and it got around six-and-a-half-thousand page hits in the first few days. Which was jolly nice (and, makes a refreshing change from this blog mostly being visited by people in former Soviet republics who are, seemingly, searching the Interweb for porn and have ended up here by accident. That's this blogger's story and he's sticking to it). So, dear blog reader, ever onward ... and we start where we left off last time, in 1977 ...

... All of which brings us to the early years of the Twenty First Century, when Doctor Who was a long-running family SF drama that 'the BBC used to make.' Fit only for reasonably affectionate comedic parodies (for charridddeeee, of course, so that was all right), nostalgic documentaries and a series of - mostly rather good - novels read by a rapidly diminishing fandom. Some people still choose to sentimentalise 'The Wildness Years' as some kind of glorious golden era. This blogger was there, dear blog reader and, although fun at the time, ultimately he begs to differ. Fortunately, perhaps, down in South Wales, something was stirring ...
